K-Pop Singers Confirmed For Lineup of SXSW, TGE And MIDEM

Korean musicians leading K-Pop appear on the stage of the world’s three music festivals in the world.

Korea Ministry of Culture and KOCCA pronounced they finally selected 12 groups of Korean musicians who will represent Korean music in the world-class music festivals held in US, UK, France. The world’s three music festivals are “South by Southwest(SXSW)” of U.S., “The Great Escape(TGE)” of UK, “MIDEM” of France.

March 15~20, popular singers will participate in SXSW held in Texas, Austin. In March 16, at 7 pm, they will be in the stage of K-pop Night Out in Austin, Vermont. Girl group MAMAMOO said “ We want to show a stage of communicating with audience, dancing and running across the stage unlike other girl groups.”

In K-pop showcase of TGE held in May 19~20, female trio group The Barberettes that will reproduce 1950~1960 music and sound with attractive chords. ‘DPS Sailors’ that won the grand prize in Rock album in Korean Music Awards also will be performing impressive and unique stage on the showcase.

At MIDEM, which will be held in Cannes, France in June, four bands including powerful rockers Guckkasten, Korean electronic trio Idiotape and hip-hop team Eluphant will be on stage.

In the interview with local reporters, Eluphant’s Kebee of said, “We will deliver the uniqueness of Korean hip-hop, focusing on the fun of the sounds that the Korean language has. With our performance, we want to make audiences around the world intrigued further into the whole K-Pop.”
