SM’s Neo Culture Technology: NCT Profile

New conceptive Kpop group, which will scatter to do promotions in various countries, is ahead of its debut.

Lee Soo-Man, the general producer of SM Entertainment, announced 5 new projects for this year and introduced the company’s new rookie group at the presentation show, ‘SM TOWN: New Culture Technology, 2016’, which was held at SMtown COEX Artium, Seoul Gangnam, in the afternoon of 27th.

It was the first time that the head of domestic corporation introduced rookie in front of the press by himself. He started the announcement with saying, “SM will begin the final level of 3 stages of Hallyu, which we have dreamed of for a long time.” He continued, “The simple export for the first, collaboration work with local companies as the second, and finally, we reached at the last stage, instructing the local people in SM’s cultural technology.” The main theme was NCT, New Culture Technology, on the day. Lee has asserted CT, Culture Technology, development since he founded SM Ent. in 1995. NCT can be considered as the evolved version of CT.

The new rookie of SM, scheduled its debut in this spring, NCT, Neo Culture Technology, is a team of new concept, which will be based on its abroad movement, including Seoul as well, in Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, and major cities of South America and South East Asia. The group will move onto both mutual cooperation and local promotions. Lee finished the presentation with, “The team NCT will be flexible about its member composition, new will come anytime and no limit of the number of members. It will accomplish the real localization of Hallyu with openness and expandability.”
