Produce 101’s New Girl Group Name Revealed to Be ‘IOI’

Mnet’s hit survival show “Produce 101” revealed the name of the upcoming their girl group to be IOI!

Reps from the show said, “The 11-member girl group will have a natural and friendly feel to them. The group will show different colors from many other girls, and show a new upgraded version of themselves. They will be a girl group that has a more edgy and fresh image with overflowing brightness.” As previously reported, Produce 101 is the nation’s first agency-collaboration unit girl group project with a total of 101 trainee girls from different agencies. 11 of them will be selected to form a unit girl group.

Meanwhile, the final episode airs on April 1 at 11pm KST on Mnet. The final episode of “Produce 101” will reveal which contestants will soon be debuting as members of the group with their voting results. And after that, the newly formed group will be getting ready to debut. A source from CJ E&M says that the production aims to debut IOI in April or May.
