Who’s Our WCW?

Tiffany was born in San Francisco, CA on August 1, 1989 as Stephanie Young Hwang. Her parents also gave her the Korean name of Hwang MiYoung. Although Tiffany’s legal name is Stephanie, she debuted with the name Tiffany, because of another SM star of the same name. SM had a prior girl group called CheonSangJiHee, where the maknae’s name was Stephanie. As such, SNSD’s Stephanie chose a name similar and debuted under Tiffany. Tiffany grew up in California, until she moved to Korea to pursue her dream to be the next BoA. She was cast through SM Entertainment’s Starlight Casting System in 2004, where she passed with flying colors at the young age of 15. Multi-talented in singing, dancing and with a bright personality for humor, she was easily added to the startup lineup of Girls’ Generation (SNSD). She debuted in 2007 with the final lineup of SNSD, and took over the K-Pop scene by storm. Tiffany played an important part in SNSD’s venture into the US market, as she was one of the only two members to speak English fluently. As a queen of K-Pop and variety shows, Tiffany now prepares for her solo debut!

Why We Crush

To list all of Tiffany’s successes and achievements is impossible for the time that we have, so we’ve organized it into two parts: Hosting and Friendship Goals! Ever since their debut, Tiffany had gained much love from the SONEs for her bright, easy going personality. Tiffany had started hosting K-Pop music programs, as well as hosting concerts, for her welcoming personality and cheerful attitude. She had hosted MBC’s Music Core off and on for several years.

Tiffany is known as the happy virus of SNSD for her overflowing bright energy, which allows her to easily make friends from different K-Pop groups. She has set the standard of K-Pop Friendship goals, where the list of her BFFs are as impressive as they as extensive! Some of her closest friends include: SNSD’s TaeYeon, SISTAR’s BoRa, Jessi, Olympic swimmer Park TaeHwan, Victoria Beckham and Diplo just to name a few. Not to mention, she had once captured the heart of 2PM’s heart-throb, Nichkhun!

Where We’ve Seen Her

We all know Tiffany from SNSD, but she finally received the main spotlight for her vocal abilities through her promotions through TaeTiSeo (TTS). TaeTiSeo is a trio unit group of SNSD, consisting of TaeYeon, Tiffany, and SeoHyun. TTS has a different style from SNSD, where their songs consist more of a R&B sound. Through TTS, Tiffany was able to portray a new side of her that the public were unable to see much of. Not only have we seen her through her music promotions, she’s been featured on an unending amount of variety shows. most notably, she was recently cast onto “Unnies’ Slam Dunk”, where 6 of the most entertaining female celebrities join to complete various missions.

Where We’ll See Her Next

From nine to three to one, Tiffany has spread her wings to fly solo for an upcoming solo debut. SONEs have been waiting for years after rumors of her solo debut started spreading. On May 4, SM Entertainment revealed the schedule leading to Tiffany’s official solo debut. SNSD’s happy virus will officially return as a solo artist on May 11th with her title track, “I Just Wanna Dance”. We just wanna see Tiffany ASAP!
